Eye in the Sky Review - 3 Stars

“Eye in the Sky” joins the group of hard-hitting, contemporary war pictures. British officer Helen Mirren pleads for permission to drop a bomb from a drone, when she discovers a group of known terrorists preparing for a suicide mission. High tech wars take place (in our time) in quiet rooms, conducted over computers. Just as Mirren lines up her target with the aid of drone pilot Aaron Paul, a young girl arrives to sell bread and the story turns from war technology to the value of an innocent life. The tension increases, as the decision to go or not travels up and around the chain of command. “Eye in the Sky” asks tough questions and never lets us off the hook. This is a heart-pounding, high-tech thriller. Does it deliver what it promises? High-tech thriller. Is it entertaining? Keeps you on the edge of your seat. Is it worth the price of admission? Great story and great performances.
